The participation gap

Participation has become harder than it should be.

Canadians want to be consulted. They don't feel heard. The gap between expectation and reality is what every public-facing institution is now paying for at the ballot box, in the bargaining room, and in the news cycle.

68%
of Canadians say elected officials don't care what they think
86%
say governments should consult them before major decisions
37%
actually feel they have a real say
A 49-point gap between what people expect and what they get.
Converso is the solution.
We are the direct channel — live, two-way, on the record, at the scale Canada's public sector actually needs.

We are the direct channel.

Who shows up

Every voice on the line — including the ones nobody else reaches.

Telephone-first design isn't a nostalgia choice. It's how you reach the seniors, the rural communities, and the Canadians whose only access to consultation is the device sitting on their kitchen counter. When the channel works for them, it works for everyone.

An older man in glasses and a scarf, holding a phone, looking at it with quiet attention.
Seniors who don't email But never miss a call. The audience every other consultation tool leaves behind.
A Black woman in business attire, smiling while on a phone call.
People who want to be heard 86% of Canadians want their government to consult them. Most have no way to participate.
A woman of colour at her kitchen table, on the phone, listening intently.
Working Canadians Two kids, two jobs, no time to drive to a town hall. They join from the kitchen.
A man in a brown jacket sitting outside on a bench, holding a phone.
Rural & remote Where broadband is spotty, the phone line still rings. We meet people where they are.
A community meeting in a small room — people sitting in chairs, focused on the speaker.
Constituents in the room Hybrid by default — the people who can come, do; the rest dial in. Same conversation.
A diverse audience inside a conference, listening attentively.
Members & delegates Bargaining updates, ratification votes, AGMs — every member, every voice, on the record.

Our origin

Born of necessity. Built to last.

Converso was founded in the middle of a wildfire. In 2015, when a Canadian community needed to hear directly from its leaders — and its leaders needed to hear back from a population scattered across a province — the existing tools failed.

We built what was missing. Today, that same channel runs daily during emergencies, quarterly during budgets, and weekly during bargaining — for governments, hospitals, unions, and First Nations across Canada.
